ALBERCA REVISTA DANZA BY RUBY ONYINYECHI AMANZE AT MARIANE IBRAHIM
September, 2025
On September 26, Casa Dragones joined Mariane Ibrahim Gallery in celebrating the inauguration of Alberca Revista Danza, a new exhibition by Ruby Onyinyechi Amanze. A select group of VIP guests gathered for an intimate lunch, marking the beginning of an exhibition that will be on view through January 10, 2026.
The welcome began with the renowned Pánuco 36, a delicious craft cocktail with Casa Dragones Blanco, alongside Casa Dragones Reposado and Casa Dragones Joven served neat, setting the tone for an afternoon of cultural dialogue and celebration.
In Mariane Ibrahim’s vision, the gallery is more than a space: it is a threshold between memory, body, and territory. Within this vision, Amanze presents a series of works that challenge the two-dimensional limits of paper, creating universes where objects float free from the boundaries of land, gravity, or time.
Her compositions feature seven recurring motifs — among them “ada,” a swimmer-dancer often in intimate exchange with “audre,” the leopard, alongside motorcycles, architecture, birds, pools of water, and paper. These forms are collaged into dreamlike constellations, directed toward sensations of feeling and sense rather than linear narrative. Amanze’s use of water as a material — through photographic transfer, diluted inks, and dripping marks — shimmers across the paper, evoking movement and reflection.
Guests at the inaugural lunch raised a glass to Amanze’s extraordinary vision with Casa Dragones, toasting an exhibition that dissolves the boundaries between body, space, and imagination.
